In January 2020, Nicola, a stay-at-home mum with a passion for healthy cooking and the environment, opened Foundation Bulk Food Store. Living on the Mornington Peninsula, she knew first-hand how tricky it could be to find affordable, unpackaged wholefoods and refillable cleaning products in the area. Tired of the limited options and determined to create a sustainable shopping alternative to big supermarkets, Nicola decided to take matters into her own hands and opened the store.

Foundation Bulk Food Store was born out of Nicola’s mission to make sustainable, healthy choices accessible to her Mornington Peninsula community, at her Dromana address. She wanted to make it easy for locals to buy exactly what they needed – without excess packaging or waste – and offer a space that feels warm and welcoming.

At the Foundation Bulk Food Store in Dromana, customers can fill their bags and jars with everything from Aussie oats and local honey to eco-friendly dishwashing liquids and Nicola’s special adaptogenic hot cacao, Elevate Elixir.
